ROCKART Marker Shrouds are a superior alternative to the common practice of "tree blazing" ... or in places where marking trails with conventional fiberglass marker posts is just not practical. Shrouds offer a less intrusive way to reassure trail users. They are cost effective and require very little to no maintenance.

They are very compact, lightweight and nest together and can be carried to the install site in a backpack. The highly durable plastic formulation and color resists damage from UV exposure, helps protect the applied decal from weather. These markers can be installed higher up on a tree and will remain in place so they'll always be visible.

Rockart’s patented Marker Shroud is used often to protect and display critical details like: trail identification, warning of dangerous areas, degree of difficulty, direction to previous/next marker, mileage, trail numbers, color coding, GPS way points, etc.

The included decal backplate provides a smooth "decal-friendly" surface to apply a decal; then brush on a few dabs of ABS Cement (#08-701) to the inside back of a previously installed marker shroud. Finally, rotate the backplate so that the "top of the decal" will be oriented correctly and then PRESS the back of the decal backplate (textured side) FIRMLY AGAINST the exposed ABS cement and HOLD FOR ONE MINUTE. This becomes a semi-permanent assembly and should deter unauthorized removal (since access to the mounting hardware is obscured once cemented in place).

Use of reflective decals is recommended to increase visibility after sunset, especially in areas where trail users could misjudge the time required to return to the trailhead.
